THE COMPANY REP exists because of a collective belief that the Theatre is a vibrant and influential art form that has a unique power to illuminate the human experience. We are committed to creating both modern and classical works that explore that experience and to do so in ways that will both enlighten and entertain.
We further commit ourselves to creating and maintaining a strong group of multicultural Resident Artists as well as seeking out an extended company of Directors and Designers who will bring with them bold new visions and inventive approaches that will test the bounds of theatre's artistic possibilities.
We undertake to advance the art of theatre in the service of our community, and aim to extend that service through educational, intercultural and outreach programs that harmonize with our artistic mission. In addition to educating our community-at-large we will continue to educate the community within, offering classes and workshops to our own company members and in so doing encourage their artistic growth. We are dedicated to developing new plays and new playwrights, giving them a supportive environment in which to work, thereby being able to nurture mutually rewarding long-term relationships with America's most promising new voices.
It is the mission of THE COMPANY REP to create theatre that celebrates the human spirit, theatre that as an active part of its community, encourages exploration from both its artists and audiences alike.
